My name is Ellen Milinich, née Bibler, and I live in Visalia, California. I grew up in beautiful Monterey, California, where my father taught art at the local community college and created "Little Man on Campus" cartoons.
I am a late bloomer in my art career. Although I would periodically draw portraits, it wasn't until my children were grown did I have an "a-ha" moment and realize my talent was God-given, and that it was my purpose to pursue, strengthen and develop this talent. Strangely, it is spiritually fulfilling and has taken me on an exciting path of self-discovery. It has developed into a sustaining passion.
Most of my artistic skills I attribute to being inherently created at birth. In addition, I spent my childhood surrounded by art books and magazines, paint brushes, paints, and creative people. I have discovered my primary favorite media to be charcoal, my secondary, pastels.
My skills have matured and evolved into my own style. Most of my commissioned portraits are born through word of mouth. When I deliver a finished portrait and it brings tears to the eyes of the commissioner, it makes me happy because I know they, too, have been spiritually moved.
